I usually find nothing will never budge them far from their own environs,no matter how cheap the cost-including absolutely free,
But for those of us with a passion for travel, we know it can be an occassional expensive obsession. So if the muses of travel are calling, but your wallet is wincing in pain -here are a few places which can help satisfy both. All of them are free.
First stop is the delightful Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum in Myrtle Beach SC. Hung with the works of local artists and featuring national shows the museum is easily accessible off South Oceanside Boulevard. Once a family residence, the museum also offers sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean from its enclosed veranda. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter the museum fits into any golfer's or beachlover's itinerary.

Want to hang out with the stars? Periodically, the Planetarium at Valdosta State University in Valdosta GA offers shows to the public. Besides the indoor show up on the roof telescopes are set up for some stargazing on your own. Tickets are very popular, and must be reserved by phone by calling (229) 333 5752.
In a state chock full of traditional riches West Virginia offers a Cultural Center at the State Capital Complex in Charlestown.

A few miles south of Hattiesburg MS, is the Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby. This museum houses memorabilia from the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf Wars. More than 6,100 items from all branches of the military are displayed.
