I've been to the Natchitoches Festival of Lights and it is spectacular. My husband went there almost every year as a child and then he took me after we were married. Millions of lights sparkle along the banks of Cane River and even out in the water, their reflections doubling the light effect. There are also fireworks and lots of little booths and displays set up. It's well worth the drive to this oldest town in the Louisiana Purchase.
